Hairdo Hat - Princess Leia Edition

 image from 4.bp.blogspot.com

We're fond of Star Wars round here. You may have noticed. (We do branch out into many other - frequently dorky - interests when the mood takes us). We're also supportive of any excuse to get creative. Sew Can Do is written by Cheryl, the mother of this little Princess, and her blog combines tutorials, geekery and fun stuff. Including how you can make yourself a Princess Leia hairdo hat:

This girl's pretty chuffed. What's not to love? Find out how to make The Leia. Or even Star Wars cookies. Om nom.

Win Our iPhone 4!

  TB_logo

This time it was Tom's turn to indulge in the truly British pastime of queuing, when he spent 6 hours of Thursday in line for the new iPhone 4 (32GB, in case you're wondering). And now that we've got him back in the office and in front of the camera? We're taking that phone off him and giving it to you. Sorry Tom.

So, you want it? Good good. There are some very simple ways to put yourself in the running.

1. Like us on Facebook

and/or

2. Follow @firebox on Twitter

Already follow us on one or both? Pat yourself on the back and make yourself a hot cup of something for being ahead of the game. Relax in the knowledge that you're already in it to win it.

EDIT: 3. You can now also enter on our site.
Picking any of these options gets you in the running, but you can use all 3 to raise your chances of winning that hunk of goodness up there. (We're talking about the iPhone, people. Focus).

Need more details? OK - try this. Still got questions? Send us a tweet or talk to our wall. We like that.

The iPhone 4 will be re-homed on July 16th 2010. Good luck!

Making Things Happen, now with Quirky

We're chuffed to announce that we're stocking an exciting new range at Firebox, from the lovely people at Quirky.com. In fact, we're the first UK retailer of Quirky products and the first batches are in already.

So, Quirky is a social product development company. Sounds fancy, right? It really is. Someone (and that can be anyone, maybe even you) comes up with an outstanding idea, the whole Quirky community makes it happen and once it goes on sale everyone involved in the process gets a slice of the pie. Great stuff. Here's a handy diagram (click through the image to read all about it):

  Here's a handy
diagram.

Check out some of the success stories. We have many more amazing and unique products to bring you from these guys, so keep your eyes peeled on Firebox.com for more of the range over the next few months.

PS. Chances are you're feeling all fired up by this talk of seeing ideas brought to life. (And hey, if not, we won't judge - you might be busy). If so, we have just the thing! We're now accepting entries for Firebox Inventor 2011. Go on... put pen to paper, cursor to screen, or crayon to wall and show us your ideas for brilliant gadgets!
